Does anyone have a detailed map of the exact area of Morokulien that is
jointly administered by Sweden and Norway? Attached are two files - a
small map of the general area and a picture of an envelope posted from
there with a Swedish stamp and a Morokulien label. Norwegian stamps are
equally acceptable, and in fact the post office there is one of only
five or six others in the world that has two post- or ZIP codes, each
from a different country ( N-2242 Morokulien and S-67044 Morokulien).
I'm also seeking a copy of the treaty that established the condominum.
I have heard the area came to have this weird status somewhat in jest,
having something to possibly do with the promotion of a movie in the
late 1950s, to which it's name alludes. It also has something to do
with a peace treaty between Scandinavian countries, from what I've
heard, but know little else. I've seen many websites from radio
amateurs whose stations broadcast from there, but none really address
the history.
Help will be appreciated.
Thanks and regards
