Yeah, you're right. Some stuff at the end involved selling, didn't it?
And I always wondered if the song Bowie wrote, The Man Who Sold the
World, was making some reference to that story. (But then, I used to
wonder if the band Stiff Little Fingers were making an homage to the
50s SF series The Invaders - turned out they were making reference to
a two-fingered British sign of dismissal.)
BTW, I meant to say thanks to you for flagging up a couple of Donald
Moffitt books I hadn't read. He turns out stuff so rarely it's easy to
miss.
