kattskill into lake george may be the northernmost kill
lying about 60 miles north of albany
but the distant schuylkill river
which descends to the delaware from central pennsylvania
may be the westernmost kill
easternmost may be salmon kill
my own recent home kill in salisbury connecticut
a tributary not of the hudson but of the housatonic
& a surprise spillover from dutchess county ny
pronounced dutches by the new england anglos
& the southernmost kill may be very far to the south
at broadkill beach in southern delaware
a bit more of a surprise still
but there could well be some other kills displaced farther still from nuclear dutch america at new amsterdam
& i hope someone will improve on this first all american kill news tour try
albeit preferably without killing it entirely
still
whether there are many more widely scattered examples dating from the original dutch naming period i rather doubt

these probably date mostly from the romantic & greek revival periods of the early to mid 18th century
if i still remember my stewart accurately after 35 years
