new brendan
please overlook the bum steer i recently gave you to the corner corner as
well as the fact that it doesnt yet have the info you seek

& since gregg hasnt shown up here yet either to bail me out
let me say i recall he mentioned pasw was quite a challenging point to
visit circa 1999
with steep gradients & a confusing roundabout i believe
& in fact i think he may have been one of the very few people to ever reach
it

the point was planted in 1784 by the legendary andrew ellicott himself
& it then took 99 years for the first known west virginians to reach & mark
it for themselves

other than that you & gregg are the only known people to have ever even
tried

ellicott btw is often regarded as the father of american tristating
having visited or rather created as many as 20 tristate points by 1819
indeed nearly all that existed at that time

i recall greggs original report to the ellicott society
the secret society behind the corner corner
of which there are only a few visible traces online

http://geography.about.com/cs/politicalgeog/index_2.htm?once=true& makes a
cryptic reference & link to it about 2 scrollbar clicks down the page

but until he gets here
i guess all i can really do is add fuel to your curiosity

m
