more photos

Here are more photos from my slide collection from Campione d'Italia.  Sorry that some of the resolutions are not too good.

1) This is the gateway arch, which is located actually about two meters inside the Italian exclave.  Note the pavement change and the actual boundary marker to the far right of the picture.

2) It's easy to see the precise boundary line here.  It's where the line on the monument is carved and the right edge of the white stone line in the road.

3) On the opposite side of the road is this small bronze plaque embedded in the pavement. Unfortunately I don't have anything in the picture for scale, but just know that the plaque is about the size of an average men's wallet.  The border is marked so precisely at this point, I was amazed.  The very corner of Italy is clear in this marker and the border follows the left edge of the white stones.  I must say that I believe this is the most precise border marker for a national corner that I've ever seen.  Anyone seen any others like this?

More to come.
