that last riff about golf courses & swiss cheese must not have been entirely <br/>
clear without accompanying maps<br/>
so in hopes of providing at least some clarification i will endeavor now to <br/>
review all 4 of the modes of clavoscopy that affect the form of our living <br/>
breathing country<br/>

first please understand that our everyonese sovereign territory begins <br/>
generally 12nm from all land other than antarctica<br/>
  tho there are of course the usual exceptions & anomalies in the fine <br/>
details<br/>
& understand secondly that our common wealth tho not our national territory <br/>
itself has been reduced by generally accepted claims to sovereign rights <br/>
over an additional 188nm out to sea beyond the first 12nm for a total of <br/>
200nm<br/>
& still further where continental shelf edges protrude beyond 200nm from <br/>
land<br/>

the 6view map which grant has created most closely reflects only the latter <br/>
situation<br/>
& we dont yet have any comparably accurate mapping of the former situation<br/>
<br/>
but in grants map you can see our 18 or so big exclaves at their smallest<br/>
<br/>
& from this start you can imagine that at our unmapped maximum size all <br/>
these exclaves will grow in size until most if not all of them coalesce into <br/>
perhaps a single form contiguous with our antarctic metro area<br/>
<br/>
i am guessing about this<br/>
but it appears possible we may be reduced down to zero of these big exclaves <br/>
at our territorial maximum<br/>
tho small new exclaves will show up in enclosed areas like the mediterranean<br/>
<br/>
<br/>
& again in grants 6view map<br/>
the foreign enclaves within our minimum uncompromised territory or 200nm eez <br/>
line<br/>
  which we now believe number about 21<br/>
are what proliferate to produce the real swiss cheese in our maximum <br/>
sovereign territory<br/>
  when the sovereign territory of other countries is at 12nm<br/>
leaving not only these but many other islands & groups completely surrounded <br/>
by everyones land<br/>

so in oversimplified summary<br/>

everyonese exclaves<br/>
200nm<br/>
  an 18 or 19 hole golf course<br/>
12nm<br/>
  integration of the above<br/>
  plus swiss cheese especially at the margins<br/>
    numbering perhaps dozens or scores worldwide<br/>
<br/>
foreign enclaves in everyones land<br/>
200nm<br/>
  a 20 or 21 hole golf course<br/>
12nm<br/>
  fragmentation of & additions to the above producing major swiss cheese<br/>
    numbering perhaps hundreds worldwide<br/>
<br/>
in reality we dont even have rough counts yet but only these wild guesses of <br/>
the numbers of swiss cheese holes of either type<br/>

also please note that the projection i offered earlier of our approximated <br/>
maximum sovereign territory as a simple contraction of grants eez outline <br/>
landward 188nm is much too crude in that it ignores all these swiss cheese <br/>
holes of both types<br/>
