I just read an interesting article on this tp,
written by a Swiss lady, Frau Marianne Spiess - on: www.mms-spiess.ch on
borders, border drawing problems etc.
In her article, she points out, that there has
never been any agreement between the three parties involved on how to "divide"
the lake...! Switzerland regards the mid-line between Ge and Su as the natural
borderline, Austria's opinion is that the Eastern part of the lake should be
governed by all states, and Germany's point of view is not really
known..
These different points of view haven't yet had any
consequences of any practical sort, since matters of fishing rights and
navigation on the lake have been agreed upon by all parties... anyway, for us it
means the absence of any tp-marker or buoy in the lake...- which again will have
some consequences for our GCEBE !
Michael - thanks for your comprehensive reply to my
question conc. the existence or non-existence of the only international
quadripoint "bwnazmzw" !
The map offered by Mrs. Spiess on her web-site
doesn't show details, but the articles on this matter were
interesting...!
Michael - allow me one personal question: your
hometown is Twin Lakes, Ct. -
allright? Actually I couldn't find your place on
maps, where exactly do you live..
Personal interest, yes, cause I simply
love New England, have been there three times - last year as a
tour-guide - and plan to revisit NE soon... never forget the lobsters in
Maine...
All the best - Peter
