best available map
http://www.nexus.net/~911gfx/vietnam/maps/nf48-05/nf48_05a.html
on which the tripoint at khoanglaxan peak aka
shicengdashan mountain is shown at bottom center

all 3 ibs confirm the tripoint is at a watershed
trijunction

& for additional confirmation of the summit point
there is also
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BoundaryPoint/message/18121

so the attached tripoint stretching diagram simply
locates this exact summit point with the help of the
google earth contour features
tho it is well to bear in mind that the reliability of
the 3d feature has recently come into question at
atitsi

& some other data to bear in mind are

google earth altitude readings are well under 100
meters off of the topo readings in relatively low
elevations like this
but they are generally about 1000 meters off in the
high himalayas
suggesting the numerical elevation error could well be
a direct function of the numerical altitude reading

which makes me wonder why they dont just tweak these
readings up or down a little to make them right
or at least get them a lot closer with a little fine
tuning

& it suggests something more may be at stake &
something more required than meets the eye

but the error in any case does seem to be far more
vertical & scalar than directional or horizontal at
all

our 2 guesses shown on the attachment are the better
part of a kilometer from the tripoint position
indicated by google earth
but they are no more than 50 meters apart horizontally
& less than 10 meters apart vertically

which suggests the google earth border depiction
feature is far more aberrated than any of the others

& fortunately so
since the border feature is the one we are relying on
the least
