it was difficult at first to figure out what tripoint
if any is marked by this first & oldest marker on the
iamn state line
http://www.hometown-pages.com/main.asp?SectionID=26&SubSectionID=137&ArticleID=13216&TM=52921.25
& it was important too
because i did want to bring this article to your
attention for its own sake & yet still be on topic
here at bp
but
2 maps later
http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=43.49722&lon=-91.28833
http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?lat=43.49266&lon=-91.30127&s=200&size=l&u=4&datum=nad27&layer=DRG100
it became clearer

pictured here is very likely the more easterly of the
2 interstate quaternary tripoints formed by the
respective north corners of the city of new albin in
allamakee county iowa
with a township also named iowa in that county
& the township of jefferson in houston county
minnesota

& as the first map suggests
its counterpart tripoint us2iamn3alho4iojenew
aka the matching northwest interstate corner of new
albin
may well be marked only by a public land survey corner
pin
