& this suggests jesper has preferred to push his pin
fairly strictly in accordance with the mentioned 1944
french colonial documentation
while my attached tripoint stretching diagram prefers
the position given repeatedly but approximately by the
american ibs in the 1970s

either of these could yet prove to be the correct
neighborhood
with emphasis on neighborhood
since each is looking potentially more approximate
than the other

mine for example
given the way the coords were expressed by the ibs
could conceivably have enough play in it to fall back
nearly as far as the position shown by the erroneous
google depiction
over 500 meters away

so best to keep a very open mind on this one & visit
both the french & american neighborhoods when you go
just in case
but dont expect to find anything in either case
