fresh news report
http://in.rediff.com/news/2005/may/27siachen.htm
mentions a novel yet highly plausible probability for
the eventual cninpk tripoint position
namely
the point where a due north projection from the extant
inpk loc terminal point
aka point nj9842
meets the chinese border

this projection can be visualized cutting straight
across the glacier here
http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/middle_east_and_asia/kashmir_disputed_2003.jpg
from the end of the dashed line of control
thru the orange & green stripes
but most probably only as far as the black
crosshatching
which marks the chinese controlled side of the
karakoram ridge

& this new possible position for the tripoint is so
plausible not only because it lies somewhere between
the indian claim to indira col & pakistani claim to
karakoram pass
at the respective extremities of the disputed
triangular area
but it is even more cogent because the extant
agreement does say that the line of control proceeds
from point nj9842
north
to the glaciers

moreover
since the position resultant from the actual agreement
appears somewhat closer to indira col than to
karakoram pass
it would thus have the added virtue of tilting
slightly
if at all
toward the side that actually maintains control of it
even after allowing for the mutually desired military
withdrawal from the most forward positions
