with 18 links completed & 9 still pending as of the
present intermission
following are the 17 that remain untried

they are numbered 28 thru 44 just to complete the
sequence
but i have dropped all pretensions of orderly
progression
since i have found that i keep disregarding the
intended order anyway
for various but always perfectly sensible reasons
so i am prepared to concede that order may be
irrelevant to perfection
seeing as the prevailing disorder hasnt yet foreclosed
on its possibility

& then
following this final instalment of 17 previews
i will also mention again the 3 or 4 tries that are
still in progress
& which could thus still reduce the number of the
really elusive ones from 9 to as few as 5

28
dahiwi
dalton hinsdale windsor
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4705679&e=654883&s=25&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
appears to be near the foot of wahconah falls
http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/western/wahf.htm
likely just to the right of the above pic
which also suggests the 675 foot descent from the road
will be easy

29
chdawi
cheshire dalton windsor
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4711436&e=656050&s=25&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
looks like a high dry approach route of under a mile
from north street
with the 645m knolltop available for topographic
navigation
as well as for setting a final course of 550 feet due
west of it

for access to both of the above

http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4708424&e=649522&s=50&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
best access looks to be by about a mile bushwhack from
brough road
possibly with a chla lead line
but just navigating topographically also looks doable
with possible backup help from the appalachian trail

dalapi
dalton lanesborough pittsfield

etc

for old adams road trail
http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/Mt.Grey-Summer.gif
looks best to enter under jones nose & use the trails
& at length the topography

36
adchsa
adams cheshire savoy
showing the approach & also the continuation to chsawi
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4715866&e=654134&s=100&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25

http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4717583&e=656818&s=24&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25

http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4713621.0001058&e=657186.000015631&datum=nad83
offering at least 2 different ways to climb a hill

38 & 39
adflsa
adams florida savoy
below
&
adflno
adams florida & north adams
above
being situated only 1825 feet apart
are the nearest neighbors of all the 44 tripoints
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4724080&e=659135&s=25&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
& look makeable on a single try via old roads & hiking
trails
http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/savoy-summer.gif

40
clflno
clarksburg florida north adams
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4729823&e=658671&s=24&size=l&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25

vertical feet

41
clnowi
clarksburg north adams williamstown
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4730027&e=650205&s=25&size=l&u=6&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
is the northernmost of the 44 berkshire tripoints
& looks like nearly half a mile of uphill bushwhacking

with considerable help from utility clearcuts

42
adnowi
adams north adams williamstown
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4724675&e=650151&s=24&size=l&u=6&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
looks like money brook trail toward the falls will be
a help
but still leaves about 1000 feet of uncertainty for
the approach
http://www.mass.gov/dcr/parks/trails/Mt.Grey-Summer.gif
trail map for this & the following point

43
adnewi
adams new ashford williamstown
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4721185&e=649934&s=24&size=l&u=6&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
for which cheshire harbor trail looks like a good way
down

44
hanewi
hancock new ashford williamstown
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4721334&e=641762&s=25&size=l&u=6&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
looks like the better part of a mile back of beyond
& a fitting grand finale for the primary sweep of 44

but before proceeding with the above 17 that remain
untried
there are still these 3 previously introduced tries to
return to

23
lnpiri
lenox pittsfield richmond
tho previously relegated to tough nut status
has been earmarked for a retry because a new clue has
turned up on closer examination of the aerial photo
http://terraserver.microsoft.com/image.aspx?T=1&S=10&Z=18&X=3201&Y=23484&W=1
where you can see a bright rectangle in the woods at
lower right
which i have belatedly recognized as a roofed cellar
that i came upon in the woods
& have also now been able to locate on or very near
the lnpi line about 460 feet ese of the tripoint

& 22 & 25 respectively
lnpiwa
lenox pittsfield washington
due south of the center point on this map
http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=18&n=4697242&e=646345&s=100&size=l&u=6&datum=nad83&layer=DRG25
&
dapiwa
dalton pittsfield washington
due east of the center point
both of which have so far been approached only by car
& thus cant at all be considered seriously elusive yet

plus of course likewise the distinguished
unforgettable wetpoint
26
hapiri
hancock pittsfield richmond
which
with no further intro needed
is subject to revisitation at any time the water level
may recede

so there you have 21 in all that are still actively in
play
before i am forced to resort to the gps receiver at
some point
for what may still prove to be only 5 truly tough nuts
when the time comes
