just had the good fortune to discover in my own home a
comfortably readable copy of the above melville short
story
that you may recall i first caught wind & sight of on
the way to lelnwa

& in 30 pages our droll arrowhead harpoonist is able
to go pointing for a freakin cosmic rooster in this
case
& right around home yet
rather than taking 600 or 800 pages for a cosmic whale
on the far side of beyond

& i must say
as a multidimensional trypointer
i was as utterly fascinated & completely satisfied by
this story as i was by moby dick
as well as enthralled by the personal & literary
connections to october mountain
which proved more considerable than previously
reported

for the rooster & mountain are even somewhat
assimilated by common imagery

& it is a very funny & bright story

may even have seen the text on line but have lost it
for the moment
