On this section of the river, between Grossbliederstroff (F) et
Kleinblietersdorf (D), I read that it's existing a small island (who appears
only at low water (summer)) made only by sand, and probably not the
territory of France or German. Some people said that this island never
appears on the different treaties. I don't know. But a funny association
(for carnival) declare that this island is independant !

First off, I'd like to say I'm not too pleased with the new display of
message titles in Yahoo now. I vote for going back to the former.

I just learned from the German Water and Shipping Directorate (SW)
that the Saar river that forms the border between Germany and France
is jointly administered by the two governments. This applies to the
section between Saargemünd und Güdingen only. The treaty governing
this does not form a condominium as at the D-L border further north.
