thanxx petter for the wishes & the tripoint

smack on the right dimple of the upper rhein mouth

very nice

but i dont think it ever has been discussed here before as a tripoint

rather only as one of the 3 wet&dry common boundary points
namely 1 of atde & 1 of chde as well as this point on modern atch of which you speak
all of which together determine the position of a modern hypothetical equidistance atchde tripoint deep within the lake

i say hypothetical because there is no agreement & there are differences of opinion about whether & how to split the lake up
so i stress this is only a broad presumption in lieu of any agreement

& i am not aware of the boundary change you describe

but can you perhaps show us your map

for maybe it is just incorrect or misleading in ascribing too much of the lake to germany

Hallo everybody and Happy New Year!

Now to the point. I happened to come across an old road map which
covers Germany as it looked liked in 1927. Then, the tripoint
between Germany, Austria and Switzerland have been an intersection
of three lines being placed right at the mouth of Rhein river to the
Bodensee. The borderline between Germany and Austria in Bodensee
have been created by a straight line between the point where the
German-Austrian border leaves land and the point where it meets
Austrian-Swiss border following the Rhein river. Also, the border
between Switzerland and Austria shows that it was not the thalweg,
midstream or whatever in the water of Rhein river, but that the
entire Rhein river including all river islands were part of
Switzerland. Austria began on the right shore of Rhein river. So the
tripoint between these countries have been the tip of the right bank
of Rhein river. This means a point which is in fact half wet-half
dry.
It has certainly been topic here before. I just wondered when did
the countries left this (today a ghost) tripoint?
