I recommend investing in a travel guide such as Lonely Planet's "North
Africa" or "Africa" titles for details on visas/borders. Otherwise check
with embassies in Morocco if that's your current location. If you can't
visit them in person and they don't have email/websites, try the embassies
of those countries in the UK or US etc. The will generally be easier to
contact and perhaps more likely to respond.

Lonely Planet's thorn tree site is the best place to ask questions and get
up to the minute answers from other travellers.
The Africa section is at

Other info is posted to their postcards site. Eg for the Morocco/Mauritania
border, see
http://www.lonelyplanet.com/letters/afr/mau_pc.htm
you can search by keyword to locate specific countries/themes, eg visas etc.
