Germans, in general, have their inner boundary as a quite well-researched theme, and there are really many, many publications on the subject with many pics. Anyone interested in the theme can just write expressions like "deutsch-deutsche Grenze" in Amazon.de/Books or rather "Bücher". Then, you'll get a list of books related to the theme. Some of them are very good.
I would not be surprised if there are some translations to English. Then, just try "german border" or "iron curtain" to see what's on the market.
