note the funny little nontripointing stitch in the
target area
which appears to reduce an already pinocchio like
proruption of sc into nc
& which must indeed mark the exact problem area

the bible says of this
per ncgs 1875
ncsc runs up the catawba to the mouth of its south
fork & thence due west etc

nothing about this little intermediate nne stitch

so that little lie is evidently the source of all the
murkiness

the nose should have come to a perfect point

clearly they need to look at the southern end of the
stitch
& shave the palmetto state back from how it is
depicted by usgs to that precise extent
tho hopefully not for the entire 65 miles
but just up to the first blazed tree they recover
