yes
thats another mistake the article makes

at the time of my first visit there in the 1960s
the federally constructed slab monument was already there
but there was no indian presence
no bowries
no booths
no admission fee
etc

you just turned off the highway & drove a short distance
& there was the slab

gradually the navajos have taken the place over tho

of course it is 3quarters their place
so why not

the utes however
who own the colorado quarter
have never taken much of an interest
