Hi.. This is a reply to my query about Anjediv sent from a guy who
lives in Goa ..Perhaps he is in a good position to know..I will next
attempt to contact Hammond Atlas and see if they have simply made an
error.

Well it is definitely an error that Anjediv is a part
of Daman and Diu. But obviously this error may be
unintended. Take a look. Goa was liberated on 19
12.1961 and at that time the Daman and Diu was a part
of Goa. Anjediv though geographically set apart from
Goa was under the revenue taluka (administrative
headquarters of Canacona and is so till this date.
Goa became a State i.e. the 25th State of India on 30
May 1987 at the same time Daman and Diu continued to
be Union Territory . Therefore most of the laws
applicable to the erstwhile Union Territory of Goa
Daman and Diu still do continue in Daman .

You could therefore go ahead and get the error on
Anjediv rectified on the Atlas.
