I am looking at a beautiful map of "Southern Asia" by the National Geographic
Society, dated 1981.

It shows Anjidiv Island immediately off the coast of the city of Karwar, about
ten miles south of the southern boundary of Goa. This map clearly marks each of
Goa, Daman, and Diu as pertaining (at the time) to the political entity "Goa,
Daman and Diu" (even though Diu is only a dot). However, there is no indication
that Anjidiv Island is anything other than part of the state of Karnataka.
