The boundary shown on my map agrees with Peter&#39;s, except that it shows the line<br/>
continuous through the strait from the Sea of Azov out to the Black Sea.<br/>
<br/>
The new Russian dike in question undoubtedly extends from the mainland that lies<br/>
4 km to the south-southeast of the southeastern end of the island.  It would, in<br/>
effect, undo the 1925 storm that made the spit into an island.<br/>
<br/>
The artificial navigation channel through the shallow strait into the Sea of<br/>
Azov is entirely on the Ukrainian side of the boundary and is maintained by the<br/>
Ukraine.<br/>
