Jesper,

>Here is no buffer zone, so how do they keep the parts apart?

I assume the Dhekelia SBA corridor acts as a buffer zone. I got the
impression from maps that this corridor was wider, but there would seem to
be little more than 50 metres of territory either side of the Famagusta
road. There were certainly a few Greek watchtowers on one side of the road,
presumably situated in the Greek Cypriot zone.

There is actually surprisingly little in terms of a physical barrier
between the SBA and the Turkish Cypriot zone. Just a low barbed wire fence
and a few warning signs in places. I managed to get some pictures of this.

I did find a few boundary markers between the SBA and the UN buffer zone
near Pyla, but I didn't fancy wandering around in the vicinity of the
supposed tripoint(s) as there's lots of troops with guns in those areas.
The other problem is that it's difficult to find accurate maps of Cyprus,
as most seem to only vaguely plot the Turkish line, and not the Greek line
at all.

I'll post some pictures when I get them back from developing.
Unfortunately, my digital camera didn't have the necessary zoom for taking
long-range photos.
