As a resident of Rhode Island........

This was in the news about 15 months ago when a court case
about (I think) drunk driving caused a lawyer to go out with a GPS
system to the scene of the crime. The aftermath is the border as we
know it is probably about 40 feet wrong with Rhode Island having too
much property. A town in Connecticut wants the property taxes of the
new border. The RI legislator working on it has a considerable
amount of pull (ie. he is a Kennedy) and they may resolve it in
Rhode Islands favor. The town in Connecticut is looked upon as being
a bit of a money-grubber here in Rhode Island. There is one old lady
on the RI medical plan and about 3 kids who will have to move schools
if it works in Connecticuts favor.

Cleary to the letter of the law and the GPS system they are
actually in Connecticut. What they want to do is 'grandfather' those
houses' into Rhode Island. In the article it mentioned that tax
bills were sent to the 15 or so houses' The town was stupid enough
to put Rhode Island as the state on the envelopes of those bills and
that might swing it enough for a federal court.
