but if you are a nonjoiner on principle
the skinny of it is that an aggressive connecticut town tax
collector is drawing & now enforcing a new tax map by skipping
over some disputed intermediate state line markers
which may or may not be part of the authentic monumentation
for it is hard to say for sure from this distance

but anyway as a result the state of rhode island is now
challenging connecticut to recommission the entirety of dry ctri
all the way to ctmari or neoctmari or pseudoctmari
as the case may be
where we know a familiar sidekick marker does indeed indicate
that the comprehensive but unratified 1941 ctri resurvey did
terminate
before being rained out by world war ii & never resumed

& tho it appears the tax assessor has most probably just
skipped over a few of these unratified & therefore bogus markers
i think it is still pretty clear that the at least 62 years of uti
possidetis since 1941 at latest
during which these unratified markers were observed by the
assessors on both sides
will suffice to confound the connecticuties & save rhode island
from shrinking any further in this case

but yikes the new tax bills are still all set to go out on monday
& i am amazed that the connecticut attorney general still hasnt
yet restrained the aggressive town from proceeding with this
utterly misguided & potentially costly new invasion of rhode
island & from so carelessly reigniting a war that will mark its
tercentenary this year if it flares again after its 62 year hiatus
