It's kinda neat; some of the county definitions are really simple,
and others go into quite a bit of detail. There were also only a
handful of counties originally.

Looking at Nevada's history, it's remarkable how much the population
of various places has fluctuated with the fortunes of the local
mining operations. Somewhere I read that Goldfield was the most
populous town in the state (at 20,000) at one time. Must be weird
living in a place that used to be something like 100 times the size
it is now. I visited Rhyolite once on a trip to Death Valley... neat
ghost town, now populated with giant outdoor sculptures.
