1) Another view of the main marker on the road from Philipsburg to Marigot. This is a popular stop for tourists. Note the campaign signs almost against the border. There was a major election going on while I was there three weeks ago, only on the Dutch side, although many of the cars with French registration plates also had Sint Maarten campaign bumper stickers on them. Also of note, the rusty underground utility cover by the side of the road just on the Dutch side under the election sign is a France Telecom box!!

At this border, the pavement change is actually about 20-25 meters into the Dutch side rather that right at the borderline.

2) This is the newer border monument on the other main cross-border road--the north-south road just below Quartier d Orleans. Again, in this location, St Martin has overpaved into Sint Maarten considerably. There's a nice little picnic area just behind this border marker--another international park?

3) Shot from the opposite direction looking into the French side.

Hope you enjoy these. I'll send some more later.
