the try pointer in the first attached pic faces northeast across green bay
of northumberland strait
toward confederation bridge & prince edward island some 25 km out of view
while standing in the mud at low tide on the left dimple of the mouth of the
tidnish river
where the canadian federal maritime territory meets the nbns interprovincial
boundary
at the canbnsn federal tripoint
& he expressly indicates with his outstretched left arm the left bank of the
river rather than the right
along which the border begins its southwestwardly transit across the isthmus
of chignecto

after exiting from the right edge of the first pic
the border ascends the tidnish toward the ridge of the isthmus
from which it then descends the right bank of the missiguash river past a
point
just visible at the left edge of the second photo
where that river enters at high tide the long arm of the bay of fundy known
as cumberland bay

but thanx to the enormous tidal differential in this area both vertically &
horizontally
the nbns border then continues fully halfway across this panoramic view
to the point where the river debouches into the bay at low tide
& upon which the photo is actually centered
canbnss

there are a few monuments & straightaways along nbns but it is mostly
delineated by the rivers
& it is remarkable for cutting across the isthmus along nearly the shortest
possible route
