rather than the size of the area or objects shown<br/>
<br/>
thus a 100000 to 1 scale map would be a larger scale map than <br/>
a 25000 to 1 scale map<br/>
tho details of course look larger at 25k than at 100k<br/>
<br/>
but i have noticed there is a lot of confusion & disagreement <br/>
about this<br/>
