who was partly responsible for picking up the 180 dots <br/>
from the low water line on the 1857 map<br/>
& he explained that they had actually numbered more than 180 <br/>
points by the time the corrections claimed by new york were <br/>
added<br/>
& that neither the dots nor any of the other points have ever been <br/>
plotted on the ground on ellis island <br/>
nor the boundary marked in any way<br/>
nor is he aware of any plan to do so<br/>

so maybe we have no reason to go look see after all<br/>
<br/>
moreover he is not even sure if the geocoordinates of the points <br/>
are recorded anywhere or even known <br/>
but passed me along to someone else i will hope to hear from <br/>
tomorrow<br/>

of course i am way over my head here as usual<br/>
& it now looks as tho i am going to need technical help to even <br/>
find not to say connect the dots <br/>
& then compute the total distance <br/>

but i am still hoping that that will yet be provided by njdep <br/>
whole or in pieces<br/>
without my needing to work anything out</div>
