dear arif
thanxxes as well as congratses

first because
after further drug testing
the judges
if they could still stand up
would award you the gold on behalf of switzerland
brian the silver for the united states
& jesper the bronze for britain

& second
for being the one to ride point for us here
& indeed to insist upon making the point we have been pursuing collectively
now at the original suggestion of jesper
since even before message 33 when david gave us our first great zoom into
basel
which is complemented by your own here very handsomely & usefully

i cant draw the circle & will of course defer to pete but i believe the
monument is in the tiny circular projection of land at the end of the
little peninsular shape near the middle of both of these maps
where it stands at the end of a quai called westquaistrasse
also visible in the foreground of the pic

so you can see or imagine how the tripoint lies about 170m beyond the
monument in peters lower pic at a bearing of about n20w while the near
shore bears about n20e into the right middleground

in fact it appears that the obliquely set red & white flag points to the
tripoint
which i am pretty sure must lie behind the long thin dark area in the river
in the photo
& it may even be that the tall building on the far shore is the large
square at the top of your map
