news grops of possible interest to boundary heads:
alt.planning.urban,alt.real-estate,comp.infosystems.gis,misc.transport.road
<< the road group seems quite similar in spirit,
rec.backcountry,rec.sport.orienteering,sci.engr.surveying,sci.geo.satellite
-nav

Too bad this mailing list cant be a newsgroup [yet], however, i'm sure gnus
in gnu emacs could turn it into one, at least for me viewing output format

If this group needs an Honorary Owner, I vote for Jack Parsell...

Update of http://www.geocities.com/jidanni/1994us_can_border.htm :

I almost got to the northenmost point in the 48 states, when I went to
Angle Inlet, MN (community and water feature), but I only...

Eastern most extreme of the 49th parallel boundary, its first landfall,
headed west. Photo 95 15' W 49 00' N on Lake of the Woods...

Don't go walking up to borders and expect to get across

Re: asian bdys. in taiwan, nobody's gonna make a fuss about giving the
last guy just over the hill an address being this side of the hill so as
to save giant detour to get mail. as far as int'l bdys, because for some
silly reason, taiwan's new 'cool-team' president keeps up the 'republic of
china' facade, so there will never be an official varsion of china-taiwan
boundary in public. Check the boundaries on the bill below, this is where
taiwan believes it own all china, mongolia, even tannu tuva of russia!
snore. of course every body knows its just for fun.

while at my home page see my expose of how taiwan got the globe backward on
the new $1000 bill... the central bank is still in denial phase after hasty
press conferences.

the chump denies the obvious... perhaps to avoid giant recall.

>>>>>>-- In Dan Jacobson's photo of the MT/ND/SK tripoint
(http://www.geocities.com/jidanni/images/19940721skndmt.jpg), the old
U.S. Customs warning sign appears (to me, anyway) to be placed
slightly north of the international boundary monument. Optical
illusion...or did the US actually place this sign on Canadian soil?
(Dan's notes indicate that the photo was taken looking SSW, which
seems to coincide with the angle of the MT/ND boundary).

Thanks Bill, looks dangerous to me too, fortunately, with the addition of
booster photos as we speak, one can clearly see the junk is clearly on the
US side. [### give me a copla days for the boster photos to be
added###]
