i think you must have nailed both vianden tripoints cold
& it looks like you agree that bedelu must be like defrlu a triline rather than an ordinary tripoint
& fortunately there is still somewhere to go there
i agree with you a belu condo on the ribbach makes no sense at all
& i dont hold out much hope for a bede condo either on the our above bedelu
tho i do seem to recall someone describing an alternating riverbank monumentation scheme up there
in one of the early bp messages
so that remains a suspiciously loose end
indeed this whole delu condo & triline discussion goes back very far
but i think the point & ongoing hope is that a detail map &or treaty text may yet be found to define the bedelu triline
as just the smaller & more elusive of the 2 delu condo trinational lines
my own guess has been & continues to be that this line will eventually be found to extend perpendicularly across the our as far as its thalweg from the point where the ribbach thalweg or trickle enters between the banks of the our
in a half offset pattern somewhat reminiscent of the defrlu layout
except greatly miniaturized
presumably the dedelu line will then run from the thalweg tripoint to the left bank
& down along the bank from there
so i am wondering
did the monumentation you saw make this old guess still seem like a possibility
& did you see any monuments on the our above bedelu
for if there is a bede condo too then the situation would be more complex
calling for a wet trinational quadripoint & dry tripoint at the ends of a longer triline i think
but i am skeptical about that without any harder clues
m
