These are big wide powerful rivers, and what I was seeing was numerous sandy/gravel islands appearing as the water level falls during the dry season. In turn, these suggested the likelihood of scouring and shifting watercourses. "BoNaZaZi" was my own lazy invention, since I can't for the life of me remember the correct digraphs, and can never understand them when anyone else uses them. So I stuck the first two letters of each country together in alphabetical order, and obtained something that seemed pleasingly African and hintingly close to "bonanza". Grant Your use of Yahoo!
