Brendan, in a similar (but off topic) vein, there's a funny story from the aviation world about an exchange between air traffic controllers in Sydney and a 747 approaching the Australian coast:

747: "Sydney Approach, this is Airways XXX inbound to your little island."

Sydney Approach: "Airways XXX, radar contact. Your're cleared for landing...after two circuits around our island."
