Tomorrow morning Gregg and I (with large dogs) are driving up to
northern Maine to begin attempts on five points as follows:

1. Northermost point in Maine - looks relatively easy and we might
get to see some of the houses mentioned in previous dicussions about
Estcourt Station, Maine/Québec.

2. Tri-point junction of Maine, New Brunswick, and Québec - looks
fairly challenging because of limited road access and the point lies
in the St. Francis River just south of a large lake. The river is
quite narrow at the tri-point and there has been significant rain
recently, so strong currents may be a problem. We are taking a small
canoe and GPS receivers to improve our chance of a very close
encounter.

3. Easternmost point in Maine - this also the easternmost point in
the
US. Easy.

4. Southernmost point in Maine - this involves a ferry ride from
Portsmouth, NH to the Isles of shoals 10 miles off the coast. Dogs
may present a major problem.

5. Easternmost point in New Hampshire - only several hundred feet
from the southernmost point in Maine. They are on separate islands
connected by a footbridge.

We should be back on Saturday or Sunday with a full report and photos
following. Maps of these points are available at the Corner Corner
(www.realmbuilder.com/tristate).
