Right enough. I've been puzzled by other maps of the same area that
also leave the boundary uninterrupted - up to now I've been thinking
this was due to some subtlety in the dependent nature of the Kermadecs
compared to the other offshore islands, but I've found no evidence of
that. So maybe there is a very narrow gap between the two, although to
my eye they don't *look* tangential. Hmmm.

Yes - there's a flat median line in the south for Macquarie, and
another subtle flattening in the northwest where the NZ EEZ abuts the
one around Norfolk Island.
