first
multi apologies about the multi aberrated data i have been posting lately

it must be my new prescription
& i will try to clear everything up as well as possible

first
about the benelux germany situations
so far only the defrlu trisovereign boundary line aka triline certainly
terminates in mutually distinctive trisovereign points

by contrast the bedelu triline
which also terminates in multisovereign points
links a more or less normal tripoint with a unique trisovereign quadripoint
but only if the still merely hypothesized bede condominium is found to
actually exist in reality apart from my mind

& if not
then this triline terminates just like the other triline in 2 mutually
distinctive but otherwise more or less ordinary tripoints

however
another untested assumption
within all this bedelu topology or geometry or whatever you call it
is that the belu boundary does not also involve a condominium

indeed it is hard to imagine as a belu condo that little ribbach creek which
peter hering previously named & described so poignantly here

much more likely would be an ordinary belu boundary line following the
thalweg or bank of the ribbach to its confluence with the ours
which i believe is also peters view
& so that is still my presumption in guessing at the above scheme

but it really would be nice to have hard data on both the bede & belu
boundaries here so as to clear all this up
as well as the question of the possible bebedede condominial tripoint
which btw i may have also misplaced up or down the river ours
since from out here i am frankly unsure which way it flows

meanwhile back in florida
more of the same mess

first
yes that must make this a multi first
the first such in history i think
i must back up to correct a previous oversimplification

it is just not true that all the dry multi county points of florida must
legally be marked with the 4x4x24 inch concrete tablet of the sort bill
first found at laorospo

that was only my extravagant presumption

for there is actually also a legal alternative format which i disregarded
because it seemed so improbable to me personally
consisting of a 1 inch iron pipe stem similarly buried 2 feet in the ground
& with its top similarly flush to ground level

i simply couldnt believe such a primitive style of marker might be used to
demarcate such important points
& that was my mistake
for i do now believe i may have found such a one yesterday at hahipo
aka the hardee highlands polk tricounty point
& possibly another at dehahi
de meaning de soto

however there are additional aberrations or problems with both of these
supposed finds

at or near hahipo
where i was rudely awakened to find my first undeniable pipe stem
i realized actually only many miles farther up the road that i never really
had a clear fix on the position here because my mapwork was never carefully
confirmed
& thus that the pipe i found may not actually have been the tripoint pipe
but might just as easily have been the marker for a different section corner
nearby
rather than the correct section corner

embarrassing but true
& hard to believe with benefit of hindsight
but yes hahipo needs a revisit

even worse in retrospect is that during my visit to dehahi earlier in the
day
when i saw what i took to be the tripoint
a circled dot spray painted orange on a grassy roadside
i never even thought to check whether the dot wasnt the top of a pipe stem
rather than just a point in the expected location freshly surveyed & marked
on grass
as it indeed appeared to be

again hard to believe etc etc
as it is so unlike me not to touch a multipoint
& as i still wasnt even thinking in terms of pipe stems at that point

so both points need a revisit
haha

my third & final try of the day was also my second in a year at the now
notorious hahimapo
with bills leave of course since he was busy yesterday
where i was at least able to determine that the quadripoint position
indicated by the usgs
about 63 feet due south of the intersection of the two roadway centerlines
lies not on the fairway of the road shoulder but well into deep rough
which in this case is a rather intense swampy thicket behind barbed wire &
frankly not recommended for even the most intrepid of macheteros

bill
i think i would sooner recheck my work at dehahi & hahipo
or try plausible virgins like brcohe or chdesa or chglhele
rather than this monster hahimapo
as our next great hope for another 4x4x24 slug

for i now think the truth is
& wish i had said it right the first time
you can never know for sure which kind of marker you will get for your
trouble
if indeed either kind

brian & i have enjoyed a similar sort of mystery with the 3 varieties of the
many mileposts that occur or dont occur along the many boundary
many meaning massachusetts newyork in that case

one additional lingering curiosity
now that we have found examples of both kinds of marks
is why florida likes its monuments so low to the ground

like doesnt she realize how easily they might get covered over
especially on dusty road shoulders etc

or is she just afraid someone might trip on one & take a header if they were
any higher

in any event it would be hard to imagine more challenging & entertaining
targets than her invisible ones for the likes of us monumental sharpshooters

once again multi strange & indeed more laffs than progress
but we have all the time in the world for that

m
