We have gone from the high sierra to the coastal plain. Here, FNM passenger train 172 departs the station at Linares, Nuevo León, bound from Monterrey to Tampico, on the afternoon of January 7, 1996. The consist is SD40-2 8721, second-class coaches 4608 and 4390, and caboose 195003, all in matching two-tone blue.
