A few months ago I've read somewhere about something like that but
in much smaller scale, a kind of club or so, where DDR-nostalgics
try to re-establish the atmosphere of the good old days...
(including paying the drinks with exchanged DDR marks at entrance).

the Köpenick district of Berlin, Germany. On this day the Massine
Productions GmbH company will open a nostalgia amusement park and is
at the moment investing millions of Euro into this project. The DDR
nostalgia in Germany has grown so strong that now there is a strong
wish in the market for this type of initiative, the Norwegian paper
Aftenposten is reporting.
