I have my reservations on &quot;geographical centre&quot; claims. They don&#39;t explain =

how they measured it, because there are several methods. Centre of gravity o=

f landmasses? Crossing between extreme points? Islands and overseas territor=

ies included or not?<br/>

If they base their claim on that map of the EU they&#39;re certainly wrong, bec=

ause it omits a couple of countries now known to join in 2004.<br/>

Furthermore they claim &quot;Europe&quot; instead of &quot;EU&quot; which is what their map sho=

ws. Failure to make that distinction is always a sign of dodgy claims. When =

you use the mainstream geographical definition of Europe, and a centre of gr=
<br/>
avity approach, it&#39;s somewhere in Eastern Poland or Ukraine. Westerners ofte=
<br/>
n fail to realise just how big a portion of Europe Russia has, and how far w=
<br/>
est of centre we really are even in Poland or Germany, who claim to be &quot;Mitt=
<br/>
eleuropa&quot;. Pah.<br/>
