Please be very careful of any maps you see depicting 'boundaries'
between Israel and the West Bank. The line in the Dead Sea shown on
the Soviet map is almost certainly copied from Israeli mapping - and
I have never been able to find any justification for the line shown
by the Israelis. Apart from the very crude line shown on the map
accompanying the 1949 Armistice Agreement (see
http://domino.un.org/maps/arm_1949.jpg) I'm pretty sure there was
never any agreement between Israel and Jordan on this issue.
