i think the reason palindromes are so popular at bp
tho technically just as offpoint as borders are
is that pals have many points in common both with themselves & with multipoints
& because their intrinsic bivalency is after all just a sort of prefiguration of multivalency
& for some people like myself
palindroming was just a step on the way to multipointing
but short pals are extremely common & intrinsically not as interesting as long ones
one palindrome encyclopedia i know of doesnt even recognize them as true pals
since there isnt any real back & forth reciprocity going on with them
if you see what i mean
