In Norway and Sweden there are several places called Å, in France it is Y, in Japan O. Some time ago a 6 existed in West Virginia, USA.
 
The longest according to Guinnes, consisting of one word is (85 letters):
Taumatawhakatangihangakoauauotamateaturipukakapikimaungahoronukupokaiwhenuakitanatahu which is located at Southern Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.
 
But the official name of Thailand's capital Bangkok is consisting of 12 words and 167 letters.
