<div id="ygrps-yiv-1528049344">New South Wales governor Macquarie hailed from the Isle of Mull in Scotland. He is buried there, in a small vault in a small stone-walled field. This tomb is maintained by the National Trust of Australia, and is thus Australian property.<br/>

Luckily, membership of the British and Austrlaian national trusts is reciprocal, so that British Trust members do not have to pay extra to visit the site in their own country.<br/>
Arrangements for administration/maintenance would be similar to those made by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, which maintains military cemeteries containing various Commonwealth forces, particularly from WW1 and WW2, around the world.  <br/>

Macquarie&#39;s (Austrliaan) grave is at Knock, near Salen, on the Isle of Mull, next to Oban, Scotland.<br/>
