I think it is significant that only BELGIAN maps show the road here as being German. German maps show it as Belgian. There are no boundary pillars along the road either.
My interpretation is that this small section of road remains Belgian, but that subsequent to the original enclave formation c.1920, Belgium granted Germany access across this road to ease access for the Mutzenichers to the town of Konzen etc. I have a treaty somewhere that says words to this effect. Thus Belgium granted Germany a servitude over the road. It probably functionsl ike the neutral road connecting Llivia with Spain for practical purposes. At leas,t it used to. With Schengen etc, the access has become a dead letter.
I believe the Belgian mapping people (IGN) have misinterpretted the treaty in their portrayal of the road as non-Belgian. The Germans, who show the road as Belgian would surely be the most likely of the two to show it correctly if it WAS German.
It makes no sense for Belgium to hand over this road to Germany subsequent to the enclave creation, and not to hand over similar roads elsewhere (Like Fringshaus-Konzen, which WAS German but became Belgian in the 1950s).

I must write to IGN and ask where they got their info form. Meanwhile, let us remember that the Dutch 2 years ago were still showing some of the Baarle enclaves incorrectly, so the maps even at large scales, are not infallible.
