<div id="ygrps-yiv-666932426">I am enclosing two maps of the UAE / Ras al Khaimah area (December 2, 1971 - February 11, 1972) <br/>
showing the exclaves of those countries (as well as of Oman).<br/>

At UAE independence (Dec 2, 1971) Ras al Khaimah decided not to join. RaK was an inpependent country for<br/>
about two months, until February 11, 1972 (some sources say February 10).<br/>
<br/>
Somewhere I have read that RaK joined UAE because Iran occupied some RaK islands in the Persian Gulf (Tumb Islands?)<br/>
