your mentioning algatn inspires me to try to show a punctilious view of it<br/>
hopefully attached & visible on the nearest face of the yellowed rock<br/>
as an inscribed letter tee<br/>
reclining with head right<br/>
depicting & tracing the exact boundary trijunction there<br/>
with al above ga at left<br/>
& tn at right<br/>
hopefully dating from 1818 as you say<br/>
& measuring about 2 feet high & 4 inches thick & 15 inches broad<br/>
or exactly as stated in georgia & tennessee law codes<br/>
so i would call it a very good match & candidacy<br/>
but the inscription given in bus&ss isnt at all evident on it<br/>
possibly having been painted over too<br/>

but possibly also it may just be a different rock<br/>

in either case a crowning irony is that this obvious centerpiece of the pin <br/>
cushion arrangement<br/>
is loose enough for me to have picked it up<br/>
& to have made friends with the black salamander who lives underneath it<br/>
& indeed to have carried them both home to my personal terrarium if i had <br/>
been so obsessed<br/>

but this algatn upon nickajack is a favorite point anyway<br/>
not least for its associations with eternity you have previously observed<br/>
nor because it is possibly unique among tripoints in having a cavern beneath <br/>
it<br/>
where incidentally chickamauga cherokee resistance was snuffed out in 1795 <br/>
in the first federal indian war<br/>
but which for us happily means the tripoint may be visitable on 2 or more <br/>
levels<br/>
