here in the appellation mountains
to the tune of live airs from claves of kyrgyzstan & the cerdanya

& i also discover there was a resurvey & remarking of the entire
west arkansaw boundary in 1875 thru 1877
producing a further change of monumentation at present armook
& another candidate & arrival date for the mysterious embedded
rock

& since only dim pix & impressions are all we really have of it
we cant safely presume it to be as old as possible
& simply conclude a unique anomaly must have occurred for it to
have arrived there 319 feet out of position

& having conceded those improbabilities away
we certainly cant rule out the probability of so recent an arrival
date as the above 1877 event
& moreover of a perfectly fresh candidate for the embedded rock
& thus a reasonable expectation that boundary custom & reality
had not in fact been so outrageously violated here
as i was willing to suppose they must have been yesterday

so i realize this produces quite a confectionary treat
which will have to wait largely untasted til somebody gets there
but for now i favor this most simplified possible explanation for
the embedded stone

an original rock erected right there in 1877
possibly replacing a predecessor rock dating from late 1840s
on original 1845 mound
encased by ozark culture club 1915
possibly uplifted or undercut 1955
but not otherwise displaced

fate of 1823 rock 319 feet due north unknown
