since the missing message still hasnt landed
i will at least try to reattach the lost pic here
showing the present armook monument
which occupies the alleged or desired phantom quadpoint position
& will take the opportunity to update my guess about it too

the old rock shown embedded within this later monument dates perhaps from
the 1840s at the earliest
& thus may be too young to have ever served as the megapoint marker in real
time
much as i would like to believe & claim that we are seeing a real ghost
megarock here

but worse still
my latest findings seem to dash the hope of there having been any megapoint
at all in this location
whether monumented or not

the problem is or was
indian territory & indian country appear to have been legally one & the same
thing

& indian country had been a synonym for the missouri territory possibly
since its creation in 1812

but apparently indian territory per se wasnt legally established til 1834
& i think the real smoking gun of the phantoms demise at that point in time
if indeed it had existed at all until then
is the description in bus&ss p51 of the east bounds of this entity
whether new or old
specifically
the line of the territory of arkansaw & the state of missouri
verbatim
in other words it ran continuously & without stopping at armook

so the reductions of arkansaw to indian country in 1824 & 1828 didnt really
create & increase a new indian country but in both cases just restored
former indian country to its previous status

so instead of a phantom megapoint between 1828 & 1834
as i believed in until this morning
we really had only the aricmo tripoint
the trijunction of arkansaw & indian country aka missouri territory &
missouri state
& there wasnt & couldnt have been any fourth entity present at that point
during those years

in other words
the entire discussion could be simplified
& fig 28 could be corrected
simply by changing the offending word kansas there to indian country

or at least that is my latest & best guess
& i apologize for being so shifty
but seeking the truth is often like that
